I am interested in how populations are affected by changing environmental conditions. My thesis research explores how phenotypic variation differs among and within populations of Black Perch (Embiotoca jacksoni) in Southern California, and how that variation affects the dynamics of populations.

My research interests include fish ecology and physiology, and the ways in which these are shaped by anthropomorphic and natural environmental factors. My thesis is on behavioral and metabolic adaptation in populations of black surfperch in response to spatial differences in predation risk. I have recently discovered an interest in biological and socioeconomic modeling and hope to pursue a research career that will allow me to develop these skills. I also love diving, field work, ichthyology, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and being out in the sun in general

Home schooled.

I have strong interests in animal behavior, especially the dynamics of mammals being herded.  I am also interested in the ballistics and kinematics of stick throwing and retrieval.

I am a masters student who is passionate and driven about research for the conservation and sustainability of marine ecosystems in the face of global change. My project will investigate the effects of microplastics on larvae of the California Grunion. During my free time I can be found hiking to catch some pictures of wildlife and massaging my weary knees in the aftermath.

My undergraduate research focused on the California Grunion (Leuresthes tenuis). As a MS student, I plan to investigate the communities of other marine fish. In particular, I am interested in behavioral ecology and predator-prey interactions between fish and other nearshore marine species.

I am currently a senior at CSULB and am interested in the behavior of fishes and everything that has to do with marine mammals. I also volunteer at the Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro. In my free time I like to do jigsaw puzzles and soak up the sun.

I am a senior in marine biology at CSULB. I am interested in the genetics, ecology and evolution of marine fishes and invertebrates. I hope to have a career that involves education and research!

I am an Organismal Biology major here at CSULB and I’m interested in studying Ecology and Conservation Biology. Currently, I’m doing a research project studying the effects of microplastic debris on marine fish larvae.
